FAQs

  • What time does the venue shut down  for events?

We allow our clients to completely choose their rental period if available. Our Venue is open 7 days a week for events, however our office hours are  Wed-Friday , 10-3pm and Saturdays by appointment.​

  • When is leaf season?

Typically our leaves begin transitioning at the end of September and peak in vibrance the 3rd-4th week of October. If storms hold off, our colors will stay until early November.​

​

  • What is the weather like?

Summer temperatures reach into the upper 90's and can cool to 60's in the evenings; the winters can be around low 40's; and the spring/fall months average a 50's-60's at night. We always suggest checking the weather before traveling.​

​

  • Do you have on-site lodging?

While we do not have lodging on the property, however, suggest some local lodging from our lodging vendor list​.

​

  • Is smoking/vaping allowed?

Smoking/vaping is not allowed on the property.​

​

  • When can we rehearse?

​

  • Can we leave vehicles overnight?

All vehicles, personal items, rental items, etc., are allowed on-site during the rental period  time only .

  • What does the booking process entail?

Couples are always encouraged to start with a venue tour to ensure we are the right fit! From there, you'll receive a quote where you will essentially plan out the day with our executive director. Once the quote is accepted, we will send the contract  package followed by the invoice/payment information. The booking process is completed only when the first payment has been made.

  • Can I bring my pet?

Venue-approved pets are allowed for ceremony purposes with permission, as long as they are leashed and cleaned up after. Pets must be removed from the property following the event.

  • Do you have a preferred vendor list?

The Beal Center has a list of preferred vendors it is exclusively for our clients with a booked event.

  • Can I bring my own vendors?

You are welcome to bring your own vendors. They must be able to provide proof of insurance. 

​​

  • Can I bring my own decor?

You may bring your own personal items including furniture but please be sure to follow our decorations guidelines. Please note that venue staff does not handle set-up or clean-up of any personal items.

  • Is the venue handicap accessible?

The Beal Center has handicap accessibility throughout the entire property including a designated parking area, ramps and sidewalks, elevator, ADA-compliant restrooms and getting-ready stations.

  • Is there cell service/Wi-Fi?

Yes, for most companies. The venue does have a secure wi-fi networks for guests and vendors. Passwords are provided upon request.

  • Do you provide linens?

We do provide linens, centerpieces, place settings, table runners and more at an additional cost. You are welcome to bring your own or rent from an outside company.

  • Can you accommodate virtual tours?

While we strongly encourage in-person tours, if possible, we can accommodate virtual tours as well.

  • Do you allow drop-ins?

Policies 

Soft Hold

The only way to fully reserve a date is to complete the booking process via contract and initial payment submission. A client may place a "soft hold" on a single date, while reviewing your interactive quote. This hold will expire either after 10 days or once another client has expresses serious interest in the same date, at which point the client who placed the soft hold is given 12 hours to finalize the booking process.

 

Payment

Payment is split into two equal payments installments, unless other arrangements have been made. The first payment is due within 10 days of quote submission and the final payment is due 30 days before event date, which is non-refundable. Accepted forms of payment include check, pay pal, Venmo, and credit/debit cards. 

 

Deposit & Fee(s)

The Beal Center requires a refundable damage deposit check for the rental of the courtroom, the conference room, court yard and gazebo. All areas must be left as they received them. ( see additional information in the contract)

Venue cost excludes fees for required documentation of Day-of Event Liability Insurance, Alcohol Permit, other vendor costs, and any necessary venue documentation reprocessing fees (quotes, contracts, invoices, etc.).

 

Date Change

Date changes are permitted without fee if the new package amount is of equal/lesser value then the original package. A fee will apply for rescheduled dates that have less than 90 day notice,. The client is responsible for any rate change in package pricing at the time of rebooking. 

 

Cancellation

Revoked event dates 90 days prior to event date following contract submission is deemed a "cancellation". Upon cancellation, all outstanding payments are due immediately. Refund may be issued only if the event date is rebooked utilizing a package of equal/greater value than the original package .

Decorations

Outside decorations are welcomed upon prior approval of the venue. Decorations may not be hung , decorations may be affixed to any venue structures unless approved by the venue. Sparklers, bubbles, and birdseed may be used outside only. Rice, confetti, glitter and individual silk flower petals are not permitted anywhere on the premises. Signs may only be used for means of directing traffic to event. All decorations and signs are to be set up and removed during the rental period .

Guest Count

The Beal Event Center can accommodate up to 155 guests  for a wedding ceremony , concert, or lecture . The Beal Event Center can accommodate up to 120 guests with venue chairs and tables for an event. The Beal Event Center

can accept last-minute place-settings at an additional cost. 

​

Alcohol

The following requirements must be met to have alcohol at your event:  you must purchase your own alcohol; you must obtain a "Limited Special Occasions Permit" from the NC ABC for each day alcohol is consumed on the premises; no shots allowed; self-service is permitted only in the suites prior to guest arrival or start of bartending services (whichever occurs first); "last call" must take place 15 minutes prior to conclusion of bar services and at least 75 minutes prior to event end time; alcohol consumption on the premises must terminate upon conclusion of bartending services;

 

Smoking/Vaping

The Beal Center is a non-smoking, non-vaping venue meaning smoking or vaping of any type is not permitted inside or outside any building/structure or near entrances of any building/structure. Illegal substances are not allowed at any time on the premise. Policy breach is prohibited and subject to immediate removal from the premises, fine, and possible event termination without refund.

 

Suites

Clients are responsible for their own items during events that includes bridal suite, groom quarters, ect. Any alcohol in the suites will be transitioned to the bar to be served during cocktail hour and/or reception.
